LONG BEACH PACIFIC BALLROOM LAUNCH NOVEMBER 2013
The new Pacific Ballroom at the Long Beach Arena is a fully customizable space. Thanks to the flying tension grid which is suspended above the 45,000-square-foot arena floor, the ceiling can be adjusted to provide the perfect height for any event such as: meetings, receptions, dinners, theatrical presentations, concerts, fashion shows, and sporting events. There are also flying trusses at the perimeter of the bowl with roll up drapery that defines the bowl area from the rest of the seating and also acts as a projection screen. This can turn the arena into an intimate setting for 1,500 or allow it to host a massive show for 5,000 guests. Another integral part of the variability of the venue is the built-in light and sound systems which enables the venue to offer creativity but in an economical manner.
We are the Architects, Theatre Consultants and Acousticians for this adaptation. By introducing the first and largest flying tension grid in the world, it had to be dovetailed with the continuous use of the arena for shows like Disney on Ice.
