As the Architect, Theatre Consultant and Acoustician for the Las Virgenes Unified School District we designed this 33,000 SF building with a 660 seat dual function theatre. In the structure’s Symphony Hall mode it boasts an orchestra shell. It also has a 100 seat black box theatre and support spaces for the school’s music and drama programs. After completion in 2012, it also became an active performance /learning center for the community.
The venue features curving roof slopes which are for acoustical displacement and is covered with photovoltaic cells in the future for this LEED Silver Certification project. The building was constructed with CMU bearing walls and steel trusses. This beautiful facility was completed in October 2012.
