San Bernardino High School Auditorium Renovation
San Bernardino High School Auditorium Renovation
Location: San Bernardino, CA
Type: Arts & EntertainmentEducational/Renovation
The San Bernardino High School Auditorium modernization project focused on updating the historic 1920s auditorium. The scope included the removal of the balcony and the construction of new restrooms, seating, and updated mechanical, electrical, theatrical, and site systems. The project also added an optimized stage, band room, choir room, new ticket booth, concession stand, additional restrooms, and a manager’s office.
The goal was to restore the historic building—which houses the only Federal Art Project (FAP) in San Bernardino still owned by the federal government—while transforming it into a modern, 600-seat performing arts center. Although the building’s structure remains unchanged, the interior was renovated to include a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, as well as upgraded electrical, lighting, and audio systems. The aim was to create an immersive, professional-grade environment for student performances and community events.
Mechanical, electrical, lighting, and audio systems were updated and upgraded to include new rigging and LED lighting. Analog systems were also replaced with digital systems.
