San Bernardino High School Auditorium Modernization “Outstanding Design” for Interior Design ShowCase of American SchoolWe are proud to share that we have been recognized with an “Outstanding Design” award by American School & University for the San Bernardino High School Auditorium modernization project. This honor celebrates the transformation of the school’s historic 1920s auditorium into a state-of-the-art 600-seat performing arts center that honors its rich history while embracing modern performance design. The renovation focused on restoring the character of the original building, including the preservation of the only remaining Federal Art Project (FAP) in San Bernardino still owned by the federal government, while creating an immersive and professional-grade environment for student and community use. The scope of work included the removal of the outdated balcony and the addition of new restrooms, seating, mechanical systems, and theatrical upgrades. The facility now features an optimized stage, band room, choir room, ticket booth, concession stand, and manager’s office. Inside, the theater was completely revitalized with a new HVAC system, upgraded rigging, LED lighting, digital audio systems, and improved ADA accessibility throughout. The result is a vibrant and contemporary space that allows students to truly shine while celebrating the building’s legacy. |
